Roseville, Minnesota – February 18-25, 2010
From February 18-25, 2010, Frank Msambya of Daystar U.S. will be living in a tent in the snow in empathy with the many bright young men and women in Africa stuck in refugee camps and urban slums. Frank was an African refugee too, but by God’s grace, some Americans provided him with a scholarship to Daystar University in Nairobi, Kenya. Their generosity truly changed his life. Now Frank is saying, “Please help me to help others.” Frank has a goal to build 50 snowmen and raise $50,000 during a week of living in the snow.
The 50 snowmen to be built represent the 50 students currently being supported with scholarships to attend Daystar University. But 50 is not enough. The mission of Daystar University is to educate Jesus-centered servant leaders to transform Africa. Frank Msambya serves as the scholarship coordinator for these 50 students, but he knows that there are many more capable, faithful students who have no financial resources to earn a university degree. Frank will be building snowmen and praying that many faithful Americans will join with him to build education and faith into the lives of African men and women.
You may see Frank and follow the progress of building snowmen in this website, on Facebook, and on Twitter:
If you are able, please visit Frank in person and help him build snowmen at 3065 Fairview Ave. Roseville, MN 55113. For every five foot (or larger) snowman built and decorated, $50 will be donated to Daystar U.S. to help Frank bless many more students. Additionally, $12,000 in matching gifts will double the first $12,000 given to this cause. Donations may be given online, by calling the Daystar U.S. office, or by sending a check to “Daystar U.S.” at our office address. Thank you!
